STATEMENT OF OUR BELIEFS

1). We believe the Bible to be the inerrant word of God and the final authority in faith and life.
2). We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in 3 persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
3). We believe in historic creation by God: 'In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." The concept of evolution is not scriptural.
4). We believe in the absolute deity and full humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in his virgin birth, his sinless life, the authenticity of his miracles, his vacarious and atoning death, his literal bodily resurrection, his present mediatorial work in Heaven. Jesus Christ is 100% God and 100% man.
5). We believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit. We believe he gives life, he santifies, he teaches and instructs, empowers and comforts all believers.
6). We believe that man is saved by grace, through faith in the finished work of Christ.

ABOUT ST. JOHN BAPTIST CHURCH

The second Sunday in February 2007 was Rev. Jeffrey Alan Williams's first year anniversary as pastor of the St. John Baptist Church. The first Sunday in March was the first anniversary of his installment as pastor (which was officiated on March 5, 2006 by Pastor Link Howard III, presiding pastor of Faith Christian Community Church, Port Huron Michigan).

St. John Baptist Church celebrated Pastor William's installment anniversary on Sunday, March 4, 2007. The celebration began with an Appreciation dinner-brunch at the Leaning Tree country club in Smith's Creek and then concluded with a special Appreciation service that took place that same afternoon at St. John immediately following the dinner. The turnout for dinner was great. Guests attended from many of our sister churches. Everyone enjoyed the dinner and fellowship. The turnout for the afternoon service was just as great as was the service itself. Pastor Link Howard III of Faith Christian Community Church was the guest speaker. His message focused on the responsibility that the church has to its pastor. As usual, Pastor Howard preached an enlightening, uplifting, and biblical message. Pastor Williams gave closing remarks and spoke of the many accomplishments that St. John Baptist Church has made since he has taken on the pastorate. His remarks were encouraging to all who were there. Overall, the entire Appreciation celebration for Pastor Williams evolved as memorable and notalgic occasion.

On Sunday, April 10, 2011 St. John Baptist Church will be celebrating Rev. Williams's 5th pastoral anniversary during the 11:00 morning service. Rev. J.D. Wiley of Life Center Cathedral in New Orleans will be delivering the message. We are sure to have a grand time in the Lord. All are welcome to join St. John Baptist Church that morning as we give honor to the Lord and honor to our pastor on that day!
St. John Baptist church is growing! People are getting saved and many newly saved and already committed Christians are joining as new members at a steady pace. Previous members are also coming back to reestablish their membership. Pastor Williams is steadfast in teaching and preaching the word of God. He continuously brings hope, encouragment, biblical knowledge, and enlightenment to the congregation. St. John plans to expand and to keep growing. Our congregation is faithfully moving towards doing what it takes to further the gospel and to assisting those who need help within the community.

If you live near Smith's Creek Michigan or even on the outskirts, feel free to come and join us on Sundays for service and Sunday School and on Wednesdays for Bible study. We feel confident that you'll be glad you did. We're about 40 minutes east of the Detroit city limit, 25 minutes east of Mt. Clemens, and 15 minutes west of Port Huron. Hope to see you soon! God bless.
